Winners of hackathon competition awarded

The hackathon competition, organized within the framework of Cyber Security Week by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Electronic Security Service, Data Processing Center and High-Tech Park in partnership with the State Administration of Radio Frequencies, has come to an end.

The winners of the competition, which took place on March 11-12, were awarded today at the awards ceremony.

The competition participants provided solutions on a unique monitoring systems (scripts for IDS, module or software solution) for detection of interventions to information systems.

The competition, which lasted 30 hours, involved more than 20 specialists and 6 teams.

Participants were to have basic knowledge of cybersecurity, sufficient knowledge and experience in at least one programming language (Python, C #, Java or Bash Scripting, etc.), as well as server operating systems (Windows Server family and Linux Servers), ability to work in a group environment and hold a presentation.

The jury evaluated the participants according to such criteria as “Uniqueness”, “Innovativeness”, “Efficiency” and “Presentation”.

Thus, team CTR_BHOS took the first place, the second place went to team Hack You, the third -  team Malware. The winners of the first, second and third places received cash prizes of 4,000 AZN, 2,000 AZN, 1,000 AZN, respectively.

All other participants were awarded certificates.

The aim of the hackathon competition, which is held regularly by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, is to create conditions for attracting potential talented young people into a single space, develop knowledge and skills in information technologies, solve relevant tasks in a team form and create opportunity for interesting and innovative projects.

It should be noted that the International Cyber Security Week, organized in Azerbaijan for the first time by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, has completed its work.
