03 Feb 2014

Chrome Browser which is owned by Google has been discovered serious security vulnerability. Voice recognition tool of Chrome can be used by hackers to listen the users’ voice. Cause of the problem is a bug in the voice recognition tool. Any website, if it wants to open Chrome’s microphone, a warning occurs in browser and if the user accepts, microphone opens. After this stage, user is able to command website through the voice. However, after this, another user when entering a website, even if the browser window is not open, microphone remains open and voice continuous to be recorded. Moreover, warning is not given about it. In other words, it is allowed use of the microphone without any warning. Therefore, if the website is used in bad intention, it can get access to the microphone and listen through phone and computer. Google has not yet solved this problem. Even, Google does not agree that it is bug.
