The topic of the competition which was supported by the Cyber Security Center under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, High Tech Park, Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union, R.I.S.K and “Delta Telecom” companies. was information security.
Rashad Aliyev, the project manager of “Hackathon Azerbaijan”, opened the event with an introductory speech and made a special presentation about competition, giving detailed information. He said that participants have tested their experiences about different topics. Those topics are following:
01 - Entertaining task (Joy)
02 - Crack the box (CTB)
03 - Reverse engineering
04 - Steqanografia
05 - Programming task
06 - Cryptography
07 - WEB
08 - A task about network infrastructure and protocols
5 teams differed from competitors and deserved to enter the list of winners. Rashad Aliyev also noted that this is the seventh competitions which held in the framework of “Hackathon Azerbaijan”. Then, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies, Elmir Valizadeh, said that the aim of the competition is to develop information security in Azerbaijan and improve experts potential in this field.
“In our society ICT is extremely wide-spread and every person should be able to use these technologies. Organizing such kind of competitions serves to increase the interest of young people to ICT, to raise their awareness, to apply their knowledge in the field of ICT as a team”, E.Valizadeh said.
One of the main bodies, which support competition, Director of the Cyber Security Center under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies-Faik Farmanov talked about the importance of this field and the great importance of such events for improving expert potential. F.Farmanov said that represented organization is interested in discover young people with high potential in this area.
Then the representative of Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Unions’, Jamil Huseynov appreciated the importance of competition and the activity of young people in this field.
The sponsor of competition, R.I.S.K. Company, Rovshan Akperov, said that this project plays a major role in recognition of young talents.
The official of “Delta Telecom”, Atesh Rzayev, stated that he is solidarity in previous speeches, and wished good luck to “Hackathon Azerbaijan” in the future. He said that his organization always intends to support such events.

It should be noted that Hackhaton is hacker neology, and is a series of events in which programmers solve various problems, make projects and compete with each other. During the project the main essence of Hackathon is the creation of various softwares and tools and to check their knowledge and get new one in a competitive environment.
